4.6 Conflict Resolution

Poor graduate student/supervisor relationships can lead to negative consequences for the student, supervisor, and the Faculty. While many of these conflicts can be resolved informally through open communication of expectations between the supervisor and student, there may be cases that require additional facilitation. Faculty resources, including the Directors of Graduate Studies within each Division and the Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies, should be consulted if the supervisor and student are unable to resolve the conflict. The Calendar provides additional information and resources to help resolve conflicts in the supervisor-student relationship.
