Solitary Trombone

As the global pandemic continues to lead many musicians to explore music for solo instruments, trombonist Kathryn Macintosh presents a solo concert as part of the Department of Music's Virtual Prism concert series. The repertoire of music that she will perform, including After the Rain by Jocelyn Morlock and Postcards III by Anthony Plog, will display many different aspects of the trombone - from nostalgic to contemplative to irrepressibly boisterous. Claude Lapalme's piece, Album Leaf in a Bygone Style, will also be heard. It is one of 50 unaccompanied pieces the composer wrote, for almost as many different instruments, during quarantine.
