The Practicum Course is listed as AUCSL 360/361. This course includes an application process.

The practicum aspect of this course is not being offered in 2021/22.  It will resume in 2022/23.

The application process helps the course instructor and the CSL coordinator identify your learning goals for CSL 360/361. Our aim is to coordinate a placement that matches your interests and learning goals to a partner organization's needs and available projects.

Application Process:

  • Complete application (found below)
  • Submit resume to augsas@ualberta.ca
  • If you meet the criteria for the course you will be contacted by the a CSL coordinator for an interview.
  • Review documents on this webpage before the interview
  • After your interview you will be contacted as to whether or not you will be enrolled in the course.

The process is not meant to deter students from participation in the course.

You should prepare your interview by being able to speak meaningfully about relevant CSL and/or volunteer experience or occasions for reflection you have experienced.

Fall Application Deadline: May 1, 2021
Winter Application Deadline: October 1, 2021

Late applications may be accepted if the student has a clear placement in mind, or if the student is open to working with a partner organization that has already expressed an interest in working with a practicum student.

*NOTE: the sooner you apply for this course, the more likely it is that a placement will be found.
