Go for a mindfulness walk across your campus to appreciate the here and now. Become aware of your surroundings with an open mind and enjoy the immediacy of the sights, sounds and smells. Take this opportunity to be in the moment, mentally relax and improve your mood. A mindfulness walk is less about the destination and more about bringing awareness to this everyday activity.

The walk will travel across campus through the river valley and end at Ace Coffee Roasters (11053 86 Ave NW). Staying for the social portion at Ace is optional, and participants are responsible for purchasing their beverages.

In case of bad weather, an indoor meditation will take place inside HUB mall. Event organizers will email registrants with further information if needed.

This event is in conjunction with World Mental Health Day, observed internationally on October 10.

All students, staff and faculty can participate.

The Wellness Supports team at the Dean of Students works with partners from across campus on "Days of Action," providing information, engaging in discussion, and challenging stigma at the University of Alberta.
