Strategic Work Plan

Each spring the GSA student executives work with the GSA Board to produce a Strategic Work Plan (SWP). The SWP is the document that steers and prioritizes the work and initiatives of the GSA. The GSA sees this as a living document, shifting directions as needed as the provincial, federal, and University landscapes change. It is developed annually with reference to the Strategic Work Plans of previous GSA Boards, and provides a planning document for this and future years. The SWP reflects the GSA's vision and mission to advocate for all graduate students to the University of Alberta and the Alberta Government for a safe, supportive, respectful, accessible, and inclusive community that fosters the multi-faceted roles played by graduate students.

2022-2023

This year's elected student executives began their term on 1 May 2022 and began the consultation process with a survey circulated via the GSA newsletter beginning on 13 May 2022 and closing on 25 May 2022. They also hosted a virtual town hall session on 24 May 2022, and engaged in consultation with GSA Council at the latter's monthly meeting on 16 May 2022. The feedback collected from this consultation process was instrumental in the development of the SWP,  which was approved by GSA Council on 18 July 2022.

Updates on the ongoing work related to the SWP are scheduled to be brought to GSA Council in October 2022, January 2023, and April 2023. They can also be found below.
