Alberta Bear Replicas

paw alberta bear
In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation and the opening of the new Physical Activity and Wellness Centre (PAW) a life-sized cast bronze bear has been commissioned to stand guard at the new Centre.

A new tradition has been born - on Convocation Day, graduates will come and take their picture with The Alberta Bear, a new symbol for all at the University of Alberta.

The purchase of one out of one hundred limited edition desk top replica of the Alberta Bear will help fund the new Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation International Travel Scholarship.

The Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation Golden Anniversary International Travel Scholarship will be awarded to students with superior academic achievement enrolled in any year of an undergraduate or graduate degree in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation in support of approved travel expenses for research or study abroad. Selection based on demonstrated expected benefit of the study and/or research opportunity. Funded by the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation Golden Anniversary Endowment.
