U of A Faculty of Law Prof. Timothy Caulfield keynote speaker at CCAE National Conference (June 4-6, 2014, Edmonton)

From June 4 to 6, the University of Alberta will host the 2014 Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) national conference. Some 300 alumni, development, marketing, communications and advancement services professionals from across Canada will converge at the Shaw Conference Centre to participate in ​​three days of professional development sessions. The conference program will include: a lecture by renowned demographer David Foot, professor emeritus at the University of Toronto; "The Leaders' Perspective," featuring the presidents of Carleton University in Ottawa, SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary, and Branksome Hall in Toronto; and ​​​a closing plenary​ with the dynamic Timothy Caulfield, U of A's Canada Research Chair in Health Law​ & Policy and professor at the Faculty of Law.

A highlight of the national conference will be the Gala Awards celebration. The U of A is delighted to share the good news that, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and commitment to post-secondary education in Canada, Chancellor Emeritus Eric Newell will receive the 2014 CCAE Friend of Education Award.
The theme of the conference - "Advancement +5: Our Profession in the Next Five Years" - encourages all participants to look beyond "best practices" to "next practices," as we work together to determine how we can enhance our institutions' relationships, resources and reputations.
