Policy and Process

Medical schools have robust policies and processes for identifying and addressing anti-Indigenous racism/ sentiment experienced by Indigenous learners, staff and faculty in classroom and clinical environments. This includes institutional measures of the effectiveness of the policy that are regularly reported on.

 

  1. The Indigenous Admissions Action Plan Subcommittee (IAAPS) has created an action plan that describes specific measures to support Indigenous students, staff, and faculty with identifying and reporting on anti-Indigenous racism they experience, as well as reporting and accountability measures to redress it.
