The MD Program graduates physicians trained to deliver high quality, collaborative, and socially accountable care. Our responsive and adaptive curriculum focuses on generalism and prepares you to meet the needs of diverse populations. You will have opportunities to tailor your education to your interests and career goals through our communities of learning, combined programs, and elective experiences in both pre-clerkship and clerkship.

The MD Program is based on principles of experiential learning. Beginning in years 1 and 2, you will develop a strong theoretical background in the foundational scientific and clinical principles of medicine. You will then spend two years fully immersed in clinical learning in hospitals and clinics throughout Edmonton and rural and regional communities in northern Alberta.

Combined Programs

The MD Program collaborates with other programs and faculties to offer several combined programs that offer you the opportunity to integrate medical education with other disciplines and degrees, including the MD/PhD, MD/MSc, and MD/MBA.
