Sustainability Initiatives

Parking Services is always working towards a more sustainable campus. Learn about some of our sustainability initiatives.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Chargepoint and Parking Services have partnered to provide an electric vehicle charging station at Stadium Car Park.

  • The Chargepoint stall may only be used by electric vehicles while charging (for up to four hours).
  • The Chargepoint stall is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The charging fee is 0.25 per kilowatt hour.
  • Regular Stadium Car Park rates apply.
  • Any valid UAlberta parking permit will be honoured while your vehicle is charging.

Carshare

The university is a proud partner of Pogo Carshare. Pogo lets you rent a vehicle for a short period of time, making occasional driving affordable and providing incentive reduce driving overall. Learn more about Pogo.

Park your Pogo car conveniently on campus for free! Park on the top level of the Windsor, Stadium or Education car parks, or outside HUB Mall or Lister Hall.

Right now, Pogo is offering free registration and 15 free minutes to university students and staff. Check out the details!

Carpool Parking

A carpool is three or more drivers (who live at different addresses) who regularly commute to the university together. Registering as a carpool at UAlberta gives members special permit-sharing privileges and access to premium parking stalls. Learn more about carpooling at UAlberta.

Bicycle Parking

UAlberta provides free bike racks outside most buildings on campus. Visit Campus Map to see specific bike rack locations. We also offer two secure bike lock-up cages on North Campus (Education Car Park and Stadium Car Park); cyclists may purchase a permit from Parking Services. Learn more about bicycles on campus.
