Get out of the classroom and uncover the ways the University of Alberta is becoming more sustainable. Sustainability Campus Tours are 60 minute walking tours available year-round.

Join us to learn:

  • What makes a certified green building
  • Where to find services to help you reduce waste, get around sustainably and eat locally
  • How the university has innovated with solar energy
  • Ways our researchers are addressing climate change, food security, biodiversity and more.

Individuals: Join one of the regularly scheduled tours offered through Campus Visits. Please register at least one week ahead of time, and wear comfy footwear.

Groups: Schedule a tailored group tour for a conference, official visit, primary or secondary school class, or other gathering.

Instructors: Book a sustainability walking tour for your class to introduce them to the many ways sustainability is applied on North Campus. Book a free tour for your class, available most days from October to July.

Green Facilities Tours

Energy Management and Sustainable Operations (EMSO) offers tours of some of the university's LEED and Green Globes certified buildings, labs who have made outstanding commitments to energy and water efficiency, and the university's district energy system.
