1 February 2012

Professor Gregory Flaxman was Visiting Speaker in our Department of English and Film Studies on January 25 and 26, 2012.

His January 25th talk "Offscreen and Outside: Gilles Deleuze and the Future of Film" was attended by a sizable number of faculty and students across the humanities and was recorded (above) as an audio file. His seminar on Thursday, January 26th, "Cinematically Thinking," was attended by 14 graduate students from the departments of EFS, Art and Design, Philosophy, History, and Drama.

As Visiting Speakers Chair and member of the OIL Committee, I was very pleased with the level of enthusiasm and participation that Professor Flaxman's visit inspired, and I wish to thank all who attended for making this event a success.
