Abstract:

This presentation causally presents the findings from the first 2 parts of a 3-part study on Indigenous allyship. Study 1 sought to identify how non-Indigenous students clustered around sets of shared beliefs, attitudes, relationships, intentions, and experiences, and whether certain sets of beliefs overlapped with the claim to allyship. Study 2 investigates the definition of an allyship from the perspectives of Indigenous students. A model of Indigenous allyship is presented and discussed in the context of study 1's findings. I'll also discuss how these studies are being applied locally within our institution.
