Conditions: Awarded to students on a study permit with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta from a high school in India. Selection is based on academic standing, demonstrated leadership qualities based on involvement in extracurricular and community activities, and a counsellor or teacher's letter of recommendation. Renewal of funding for the second, third, and fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a full normal course load at the University of Alberta, while studying on a study permit. Students must have graduated from a high school in India and have less than 24 IB, AP, or A-Level credits when beginning their undergraduate program at the University of Alberta.
Transfer students are not eligible for this scholarship.
Note: Students who receive the U of A India Centenary Scholarship are not eligible for the U of A India Select High School Scholarship.
Recipient(s) of this scholarship are ineligible to receive the general University of Alberta Centenary Scholarship.
How to apply: You must apply to an admission to an undergraduate degree program before you can apply for any entrance scholarships. Offers for this award will be made starting in March 2019.
Documentation required for admission must be submitted for scholarship consideration by the scholarship deadline as outlined above. This includes transcripts showing all completed courses, grades to date and proof of English Language Proficiency (see Transcript and Document Requirements).
