Conditions: Awarded to a student on a study permit who has superior academic achievement entering any year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta. Selection based upon academic standing and self-declared financial need. Recipients must hold Chinese or Hong Kong citizenship. Renewal of funding for second, third, and fourth year is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a full normal course load. Receipt of this scholarship replaces other scholarship offers.

How to apply: You must apply to an admission to an undergraduate degree program before you can apply for any entrance scholarships. Application for admissions and scholarships opens on October 1, 2019. The deadline for application-based scholarships is 11:59PM MST on December 11, 2019. University of Alberta China BC Curriculum School Excellence Scholarship

Conditions: Awarded to student(s) on Study Permit(s) with superior academic achievement entering their first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta from a provincially authorized secondary school in China offering the British Columbia curriculum. Selection based on academic standing. Students must have less than 24 IB, AP or A-level credits. Transfer students are not eligible for this scholarship. For the purpose of this award, "China" refers to mainland China.

Application procedure: You will be considered for this award after you have received admission to the University of Alberta.

University of Alberta China Centenary Scholarship

Field of Study: Open

Value: $20,000 payable over 4 years

Quantity available: 2

Conditions: Awarded to students on a Study Permit with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta from a high school in China. Selection based on academic standing, demonstrated leadership qualities based on involvement in extracurricular and community activities, and a counsellor's letter of recommendation. Renewal of funding for the second, third, and fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a full normal course load at the University of Alberta, while studying on a Study Permit. Students must have less than 24 IB, AP or A-level credits. Transfer students are not eligible for this scholarship. For the purpose of this award, "China" refers to mainland China.

Recipient(s) of this scholarship are ineligible to receive the general University of Alberta Centenary Scholarships.

University of Alberta China Transfer Award

Field of Study: Open

Value: $1,000

Quantity available: Up to 75

Conditions: Awarded to student(s) on Study Permit(s) with satisfactory academic standing transferring into an undergraduate degree from a post-secondary institution in China. Selection based on date of application to the University of Alberta. Student(s) entering the Bridging Program or student(s) sponsored by a third party are not eligible. Student(s) cannot receive this award and a University of Alberta Transfer Award or a University of Alberta US Transfer Award.

Application procedure: You will be considered for this award after you have received admission to the University of Alberta.

University of Alberta - India First Year Excellence Scholarship

Selection based on academic standing, demonstrated leadership qualities based on involvement in extracurricular and community activities, and a counsellors letter of recommendation. Renewal of funding for the second, third, and fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a full normal course load (normally 30 credits) at the University of Alberta each year.
Recipient(s) of this scholarship are ineligible to receive the general University of Alberta Centenary Scholarship.
