I am researching the intertwined relationship between data science and organizational strategies. At a macro level, I seek to understand the emergence of the fields of data science and artificial intelligence. At a micro level, I focus on the practices through which information professionals render knowledge to inform organizational decisions. The combination of these perspectives is fundamental to answer my broader question, namely: How is data science reshaping the strategy of organizations? In my research, I use both qualitative methods and big data & machine learning computational techniques, such as topic modeling.

Before starting the doctoral program, I have worked for 15 years in global organizations that develop cutting-edge technologies in areas such as submarine robotics and the internet of things. My last role in the industry was Regional Commercial Director at General Electric, where I constantly interacted with the C-suite level of the organization. At GE, I was recognized as part of the XLP team, a global executive development program representing the top talents of the company. My extensive international experiences in the Americas and in Europe have allowed me to pick up a wealth of knowledge and to value cultural diversity.
