Need to Know:

  • All camps are designed for campers entering the following grades in their next school year (Fall 2019).
  • All full-day camps and combo camps are $275 for a 5 day week and $220 for a 4 day week. All half-day camps are $150 for a 5 day week and $120 for a 4 day week. Note: GST is added during pricing to these figures.
  • With our diverse range of camps, there is something for everyone. No experience required for any camps!
  • Please see our Information and Policies section for more information.
  • Our camp operating hours:
    • Full-Day: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
    • Morning Half-Day: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    • Afternoon Half-Day: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
    • Campers have the option of registering in two half camps known as a combo camp for a full day experience. Space is limited within combo camps. Campers registered in combo camps will not need parents to be present at lunchtime transition.
    • Note: All camps are full-day programs unless marked (Half-Day).

Chemistry Minis (Half-Day)

Dates

Explore the wonderful world of science. Each day, you will discover the chemistry behind topics like colours, bubbles, water, food, and more. Participate in cool, hands-on activities and experiments, and see fascinating demonstrations.

Cyber Minis (Half-Day)

Let your imagination run wild. In this introductory computer camp, you will be introduced to creative computing, problem-solving, robotics, video games, and much more.

Inventor Minis (Half-Day)

Dino Juniors

Dates

Did you know that Alberta is home to some of the richest deposits of dinosaur fossils in the world? Explore the prehistoric past with our world-famous paleontologists. Build your own fossils, learn about fossil preservation and excavation, analyze dinosaur trackways, and visit our exclusive fossil collections.

Calling all makers for hands-on physics. In this camp, you will explore science concepts with circuits and magnets, make objects that move, and create objects that teach you about hearing and sound.

CHANGE Adventure and Nature Explorers Combo Camp (Full-Day Combo Camp)

Dates

In partnership with CHANGE Adventure Camp, the Faculty of Science is offering a full-day combination camp for grades 5-6. For half the day, learn about nature science on campus with our science camp leaders by visiting museums and labs and by participating in hands-on science activities. During the other half of the time, experience outdoor play, activities that focus on interaction with nature, and the development of new knowledge and skills with CHANGE Adventure camp leaders.

Develop your observation and problem solving skills through hands-on activities, experiments, and challenges in the exciting world of chemistry.

Learn how to make animated programs and interactive games on the computer to share with others. Discover the world of web design, program robots in action, and create your own web apps that are playable on mobile devices.

Digital Creator Explorers 

Dates

Unleash your creativity using the computer. In this camp you will learn to use digital paint tools, 3D modelling tools, program robots with markers, exploring virtual reality, creating animated stories, and more.

Forensic Explorers

Dates

Do you love mysteries? Learn how science can help solve mysteries and crimes. Understand what makes you unique by studying fingerprints, handwriting, and more. Collect and record evidence at a mock crime scene and combine science techniques with your deduction skills to crack the case.

Math Explorers *NEW*

Dates

Puzzles, problems, and a SNAP Math Fair. Develop your mathematical thinking by solving puzzles, tackling problems, and developing sophisticated strategies to win mathematical games. End the camp by creating math exhibits that you will present to your parents and fellow campers.

Minecraft Explorers

Dates

Anything you imagine, you can build. Minecraft newbies and experts alike will learn about custom blocks and circuits, science in Minecraft, farming, and pixel art. Work together to solve challenges, and build your own community within Minecraft.

Robotics Explorers

Dates

Program a robot, and learn how to control its sense of touch, vision, movement, and hearing. Using Lego EV3 technology, teams of two work together to accomplish challenges that test logic and creativity.

Space Explorers

Dates

Explore space science concepts through activities in hands-on rocketry, meteorites and crater impacts, spectral analysis, the power of the sun, astronaut safety, and space landers.

Body Science Challengers *NEW*

Dates

Explore the science of your body and mind. In this camp, you will learn about anatomy, physiology, psychology, and more. Participate in hands-on activities and visit labs that study how the body and mind works.

Computing Science Challengers

Dates

Upgrade your computing skills. Using a variety of tools, software, and computing languages, you will learn about the diverse world of computing science. Students will be challenged by computing concepts such as computer programming, 3D design, and animation. Interact with emerging technology such as Arduinos, create your own web page, and much more.

Game Design Challengers 

Dates

Design and build your own video game by learning how to use game design tools such as Scratch, Kodu, Twine, and more. Create artwork, design characters, learn about storytelling in games, program interactive elements, and create a game to take home.

Dates

Look at nature under the microscope. In this camp, you with collect and view specimens while exploring a variety of biological science topics. Visit museums and collections focused on researching nature sciences.

Dates

Get up close with meteorites from our collection, build and design your own model rockets, test virtual rockets with the Kerbal Space Program, practice working at mission control, and much more. Learn the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) in this new camp, located in our new Student Innovation Centre. You will work on AI problems, design with computer hardware, and program to solve challenges.
