Research

Dr. Zhong received her PhD degree with distinction from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2013. She had four years’ postdoctoral research experience at Concordia University and the University of Michigan. In 2017, Dr. Zhong joins Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada as an assistant professor. She has extensive research and industrial experience in the field of healthy indoor environment, with an in-depth understanding of heat and mass transfer in buildings, physico-chemical purification technologies, catalysis, and nano-technology. She is a dynamic researcher who is highly proficient in applying experimental, computational and field approaches to her research. Her speciality areas include building material characterization, air cleaning & odour control, indoor air quality measurement, building environmental impact & climate, the design of advanced HVAC systems and green buildings, and health exposure assessment.
