Congratulations to MLCS' Lisa Lawrence who recently received a 2024 Graduate Student Teaching Award!

Lisa Lawrence has completed a BA in Honors Romance Languages, a B.Ed. and an MA in Italian Studies from the University of Alberta. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Transnational and Comparative Literature in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies, with a focus on Italian language, history and culture. She has published two books of fiction and currently teaches both Spanish and beginners’ Italian in Edmonton, the latter at the University of Alberta. She enjoys creative writing, slow-burn foreign films, walks in the Edmonton river valley, and travel.
