Small Operating Grant

Please note: We are sorry that the Small Operating Grant will not be available this year.

Purpose: As part of the Nursing Research Chair in Aging and Quality of Life 5 year strategic plan, the Small Operating Grant in Aging and Quality of Life is intended to enhance the conduct of research in aging and position researchers for success in obtaining national funding, as well as engage seniors and students in research.

Value of the Award: Maximum: 1 award of $10,000 for 1 year.

Eligibility: All full time continuing Faculty of Nursing tenure track faculty members, under the Faculty Agreement, are eligible to apply for funding. A faculty member may apply for a small/pilot operating grant as a principal investigator OR as a supervisor for a Faculty of Nursing graduate student's Thesis/Dissertation (PhD Nursing or MN student). Each faculty member is restricted to submitting one application per competition.
All applications must include a senior or seniors' organization representative as a collaborator, and the grant must be multidisciplinary. Inclusion of students as research assistants is required.

How to Apply: The application must be submitted electronically as a single PDF file, including the application form, signed signature page, and attachments. Applications will be peer reviewed by the Faculty of Nursing Research Review Committee.

Deadline: Small Operating Grant in Aging and Quality of Life applications must be received in the Nursing Research Office by October 1st of each year (or the following business day) at 3:00 pm (MST). Late and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
