Too Close For Comfort: an art installation by Cara Seccafien and Morgan Melenka Feminist Exhibition Space 1-02 Assiniboia Hall Beds are sites of violence and pleasure, dream and dread, they are, as Seccafien and Melenka describe them, at once "the domain of privacy" and objects that "carry the baggage of social control." In their collaborative art project structured around an imaginary marketing scheme for used mattresses, Seccafien and Melenka elicit the complex fantasies and anxieties associated with beds. Too Close For Comfort is on view weekdays until December 20, 2013.
