HUB lights up for World AIDS Day 2016

The University of Alberta joins Edmonton and cities worldwide in commemorating World AIDS Day Dec. 1 by lighting HUB Mall red.

More than 7,000 Albertans, 71,000 Canadians and 37 million people around the globe live with HIV. World AIDS Day honours those who have died and raises awareness about AIDS and the global spread of HIV.

The inaugural "Light Up Edmonton Red" event is led by HIV Edmonton. At 6:30 p.m., U of A student groups will march across the High Level Bridge-which will also be lit red-to the legislature grounds for a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join.
