Gordon Bramfield is 52 years of age and has been happily married for 27 years. He is a triathlete, ultra-marathoner, avid outdoorsman, cat and dog lover and is also pursuing a master’s degree from the University of Waterloo (MMT).


Q: What is your favourite memory from your time at Augustana?

A: Just being a part of the university.

 

Q: What was your favourite class you took? What did you like about it?

A: Numerical Methods. Very difficult, but very interesting.

 

Q: How did you spend your time outside of the classroom?

A: Worked at the lumber yard (Home Hardware) and in group homes for CSS (Catholic Social Services).

 

Q: Who was your favourite instructor and what do you remember about them?

A: Professor Hackborn. He was always willing to just chat. Such a kind man, a great friend and a passionate educator.

 

Q: How did your time at Augustana impact who you are today?

A: Professor Hackborn inspired me to want to pursue a mathematical career in education.

 

Q: What advice would you give to current students? 

A: Work hard, be kind, find a passion and become a life-long learner.
