Arghya (Argo) Basu

Clinical Lab Manager and Senior Scientist, Nanostics Inc.

Argo is originally from Kolkata, India and holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry. In Canada, he began as a postdoctoral fellow and research associate at the U of A Department of Biochemistry, focusing on membrane protein structures. Transitioning to healthcare in the early 2010s, Argo has contributed significantly to product development, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and the administration of clinical laboratories. He is a dedicated mentor, supporting students and colleagues in their careers, especially in the life sciences field.

Vivian Triana, ’18 MSc

Research Technologist, Nanostics Inc.

Vivian Triana, a recent University of Alberta graduate, has successfully obtained work as a research technologist, most recently at Nanostics Inc. She's adept at job application and interview processes, offering practical insights. Vivian has effectively applied her education to her career, making her an inspiring example of a seamless transition from academics to the job market. She will share her experiences to help others navigate this journey, showcasing her determination and dedication to professional growth.

Andrea De Ocampo, ’17 BSc Human Ecol, ’18 MSc

Strategy & Management Consultant, Sia Partners

Andrea is a passionate advocate for meaningful employee experiences and inspiring individuals to embrace opportunities. A second-generation Canadian, she's driven by connection and community. She has been inspired by strong women to pursue her dreams and she wants to do the same for others. With her experience working in employee recruitment and change management, Andrea strives to inspire others to see what's possible, take risks and not be afraid of failure. Pegah Salari, ’08 MBA

Account Manager, Allan Forrest Sales

Pegah came to Canada as an international student and found a second home in the inclusive culture and welcoming atmosphere of the U of A’s MBA program. This experience ignited her passion for Diversity and Inclusion advocacy. Pegah has held roles at SNC-Lavalin, Lafarge, Emco Corporation and now Allan Forrest Sales. Over the course of her career, she has been heavily involved in hiring, coaching, mentorship, and the development of new team members, embodying her dedication to teamwork and growth.
