Eligibility

  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Department of Renewable Resources or Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology - MF, MSc, PhD, or MBA
  • MF program.
  • Student is studying Wood Science, Forest Engineering, Forest Genetics, Growth and Yield, Forest Management, Forest Business Management, or Forest Economics.
  • Student's research must be relative to the forest industry in Alberta.
  • A recipient may be nominated to hold the scholarship for a second year.
  • Nominations for the scholarship will be accepted from the Department of Renewable Resources in odd-numbered years, and from the Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology in even-numbered years.


How to apply

By Nomination Only: Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
