Nominations are due in the Spring/Summer term


  • Satisfactory academic standing
  • Fungal Biology/Mycology
  • Registered in a master’s or doctoral program with a focus on Fungal Biology
  • Preference is given to a student who is not currently holding a major scholarship (valued over $15,000)
  • Based on academic achievement and interest in the field of mycology and or fungal biology as demonstrated through the student’s research project
  • Open to Canadian citizens
  • Open to permanent residents
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs
  • Open to applicants in masters programs
  • Open to full time registered students

How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on the application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
