  • Satisfactory academic standing
  • Registered in a graduate program in the School of Library and Information Studies
  • Selection based on academic achievement
  • Selection based on proposed use of funds
  • Preference given to students who are presenting their research
  • Student must be attending a virtual or in-person professional development conference, short course, or workshop during the academic calendar year (Sept to Aug) or within three months of program completion to present research or pursue a professional development opportunity
  • Open to Canadian citizens
  • Open to permanent residents
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs
  • Open to applicants in masters programs
  • Open to full time and part time students


How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
