Eligibility

  • Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences - PhD program
  • Nominees must have passed their Qualifying Year
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Awarded to an outstanding student
  • Nominee must have a wide variety of academic interests
  • It is intended that awards will be used to further the student's research program in the following manner: reduction of duties, thesis preparation, travel, purchase of books, etc.
  • Full or partial scholarships may be awarded. The department should contact GPS ahead of making nominations if they wish to award partial scholarships.
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.


How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
