Ian McLaren Cook Sr Graduate Scholarship in Geology
Eligibility
- Superior Academic Achievement (minimum 3.5 GPA on the U of A grading scale)
- Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
- Nominee can be in any year of a graduate degree program
- Geology; nominee is conducting research related to the remediation or mitigation of the environmental impacts of hydrocarbon or mineral resource development
- Selection will be based on academic standing
- Selection will be based on scholarly excellence
- This scholarship may be held more than once in a student's graduate program
- If no student is found conducting research in the specified area, the recipient will then be chosen from among hydrocarbon or mineral exploration graduate students in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
- Open to Canadian citizens.
- Open to permanent residents.
- Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
- Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
- Open to applicants in masters programs.
- Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
- Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.
How to apply
By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
