Eligibility

  • Nominee must be engaged in the study of living or fossil organisms
  • Selection based on academic accomplishment
  • Selection based on the merit of the travel proposal
  • Supports travel expenses for research, collection of data, library, archive, museum/collection, or other universities for training; where student will interact w/ colleagues & receive information/advice re: student's research
  • If no suitable candidate can be found, this award may also be used to support travel to a scientific meeting or conference
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.


How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
