Eligibility

  • Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering
  • Nominees in a master's program are eligible to hold this scholarship during the first two years of program; in a doctoral program they are eligible to hold this scholarship up to and including the fifth year of their program
  • Nominee's major field of study and research is Welding Engineering
  • Selected on the basis of first class academic standing
  • Nominees in a master's degree program may be offered this scholarship for a maximum of two years; nominees in a doctoral program may be offered this scholarship for a maximum of three years
  • In the absence of nominees whose major fields of study is Welding Engineering, suitable nominees from an associated area of study or research may be chosen including Materials Processing in the Dept of Chemical and Material Engineering
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
