Pelletier Shipka Graduate Scholarship in History

Eligibility

  • Superior Academic Standing (minimum grade point average equivalent to 3.5 on the University of Alberta grading scale)
  • Department of History and Classics
  • Nominee must be conducting research in Western Canadian History, with an emphasis on lesser known people, places and events
  • Western Canada is understood to include the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon and Northwest Territories as per the 2008 legal boundaries
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.


How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
