Eligibility

  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Open to full time or part time registered students.
  • Department of Library and Information Studies - MLIS program at the University of Alberta.
  • Nominee must be entering, or continuing in, a MLIS program.
  • Selected on the basis of academic merit (grade point average of 3.2 or greater) and
  • or strong potential for a professional career.
  • This award may be offered to the same student to a maximum of two awards.
  • The award is to be given as one award and may not be divided.

By Nomination Only: Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
