The resources and information provided on this page will help assist you with the conversion of your thesis document into a single Portable Document Format (PDF/A). 

UAlberta - Campus Computer Labs

The following labs on the U of A campus are equipped with Adobe Acrobat software in support of teaching and learning:

  • Cameron Library Main Floor, Knowledge Common(B-14)
  • Coutts Library L-110 (Education North)
  • Rutherford North (ask the services desk)

Students should be able to use these labs to convert theses to required PDF/A format prior to submission in Thesis Deposit.

It is recommended that students do PDF/A conversions on a PC, preferably using Adobe Pro.

You may purchase the Adobe Acrobat software from Adobe.com. You can also access Q&A's, user forums and customer support on this site.

Third-party PDF Conversion Services*

The following companies provide PDF conversion services on the web – some are free and others charge a fee.

Many of these services require your document to be in postscript format before conversion. Check the 'help' on your word processing software for details.
