Eligibility

  • Satisfactory academic standing
  • Preference given to students with dependents
  • Selection based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership, community engagement, volunteerism and or involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Recipients must not hold other awards or scholarships valued at $15000 or greater during the tenure of this award
  • Awarded to a student who are First Nation, Inuit, or Métis people of Canada in accordance with the Constitution Act, 1982, Part 2, Section 35(2)
  • Open to Canadian citizens
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs
  • Open to applicants in masters programs
  • Open to full time and part time registered students


How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on the application process. Nominations are submitted to FGSR by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
