Windows Update Install

A Windows update which fixes a bug causing in-place operating system upgrades to fail will be installed on affected Central Domain joined computers located on North Campus at 10PM on September 21, 2021. To confirm whether you are on the central domain, visit KB001289.

Review below on how to determine if your computer is affected. Alternately you can just make sure your computer is left powered on and your work is saved prior to finishing work on September 21, 2021.

This update will cause the affected computer to restart. Please make sure your computer is left powered on and your work is saved prior to finishing work on September 21, 2021.

If an affected computer is turned off at the time of the update the system will attempt to run the update between 10PM and 6AM daily after September 21 until successful.

Aside from a restart you will see no change to your computer.

How to check if your computer is affected:

  1. Open Start menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Navigate to Update & Security > Windows Update.
  4. Click View update history.
  5. Click uninstall updates
  6. A new window will pop up. Near the bottom of the new window that pops if you see Feature Update to Windows 10 20H2 via Enablement Package (KB4562830) your computer is affected.
