What is the Politics, Society, and the Global Environment Concentration?

Do you recognize that changes in any one location or process can have worldwide impact? This major offers the study of environmental problems – including climate change, natural resource depletion, pollution and biodiversity loss – in a global context with a focus on environmental management, policy and governance. You’ll learn about the political and social methods that can be used for understanding environmental issues from a global perspective when working in government, industry or non-profit organizations. Explore how human societies impact the environment to identify problems, find solutions and implement them.

Students will gain a sociological understanding of contemporary Canadian politics in the food and natural resources sectors.
