Who We Are

Mission

To create an environment through advocacy, leadership and partnership that respects the whole student, encourages opportunity, values diversity, overcomes barriers, and builds, nurtures and acts as a resource for our communities, enabling individuals to achieve full potential.

Core Purpose

Guided by the mandate of the University of Alberta's official Policy for Students with Disabilities of "attracting and retaining qualified students with disabilities," Accessibility Resources (AR) promotes and coordinates the efforts of University departments and off-campus agencies in meeting students' needs and provides services, which help to equalize educational opportunities for students. AR serves prospective and current students at the University of Alberta, as well as staff and faculty, whose disabilities involve any number of conditions affecting mobility, vision, hearing, learning, and physical or mental health. Please review the information provided describing Student Accessibility Services services. AR encourages others to quote, adapt or adopt our material; however, please cite the office and institution when doing so.
