Organizational Chart


Committees

Alumni Engagement Committee
  • Connects current and future alumni with opportunities and support through events, resources and professional development.
  • Provides alumni with a sense of community through engagement and networking opportunities.
  • Plans and hosts the annual Bears Den event, a family friendly event where alumni can connect and watch the U of A Bears’ hockey game together. 
Communications Committee
  • Responsible for the communications strategy, voice, and branding of the BAA.
  • Provides communication and marketing support to other BAA committees by assisting with the design of visual materials and development of written communications.
  • Manages BAA social media accounts to connect with the larger alumni community.
Fundraising Committee
  • Identifies annual and ongoing fundraising needs of the BAA.
  • Organizes various fundraising events and campaigns throughout the year.
  • Plans and executes the annual BAA golf tournament.
  • Coordinates communication and outreach to sponsors in industry and among our alumni.

 

Mentorship Committee
  • Connects alumni to enable the sharing of career guidance, knowledge and experience, in an effort to strengthen the alumni family and expand networks.
  • Organizes and executes an annual mentorship program that is built to allow mentees and mentors to connect and make the most of their mentorship relationship.
  • Matches mentees with mentors to address the goals set out in each application.
    • Mentors – Plan to share your experiences, perspectives and approaches to developing your career and gaining the skills and qualifications to become successful in your field of work.
    • Mentees –  Prepare and set the agenda for each meeting, clarify interests and needs, and work with your mentor to set common goals to maximize the mentorship relationship. Actively seek feedback from your mentor and be receptive to the feedback you are offered.
Signature Event Committee
  • Supports alumni through planning and executing our annual Signature Event at Alumni Weekend.
    • Past events include: Innovation Challenge and Taste of Business
  • Provides a platform to showcase alumni founded businesses.
  • Engages with students and alumni at Alumni Weekend to promote the BAA and create a sense of community.
Student Engagement Committee
  • Responsible for the student group funding process and the allocation of funds for BCom and MBA student clubs.
  • Engages with current students about BAA initiatives.
  • Promotes awareness of the BAA’s purpose and how the BAA can support students.
Volunteer Engagement/Stewardship Committee
  • Increases awareness of the BAA through volunteer recruitment.
  • Responsible for the onboarding of all volunteers and ensuring they are aligned with the BAA’s vision and strategy.
  • Identifies volunteer needs and contributions.
  • Plans and executes volunteer appreciation and recruitment events.
