Shifting Uncertainties: The Land We Live On

September 3 - 20, 2019
FAB Gallery

Overflowing riverbanks, flooding coastal towns and neighborhoods torn apart by violent storms are the subject of a series of free floating, large-scale drawings on plastic that comprise The Land We Live On. The work questions whether humans have the capacity to overcome denial and hubris on the threshold of an era when tornadoes, floods, droughts and other climate-related phenomena regularly affect whole communities and populations.

Will we meet the challenges posed by climate change that already exist and avoid the catastrophe that looms just over the horizon?
