What sparked you to study in your chosen field?

I was a cardiologist in China, and I am interested in cardiovascular research. Pulmonary hypertension is an incurable disease in the cardiovascular system with unclear mechanisms. As such, there is a lot of opportunities for investigations, and it became the focus of my PhD.

What advice would you give to students entering graduate school?

Be smart about organizing your time and multi-tasking, i.e., dealing with multiple projects, spending time with your family and looking after yourself.

What was your favorite distraction or hobby?

Playing guitar. Music is a magic that can cure your soul, especially when you have a lot of pressure.

What one word would you use to describe yourself?

Humble.

What one word would your friends use to describe you?

Hardworking.
