Speakers Hub

The Alberta School of Business Speaker’s Hub is an initiative which links speakers from various groups (alumni, faculty, students, and external professionals) to events within the Alberta School of Business. Individuals interested in speaking at the School can fill out the Speaker Interest Form while event organizers can fill out the Speaker Request form to participate in the ASB Speakers Hub. You can also refer an individual to speak at the School through the Speaker Interest Form.
Speaker Process
  1. Complete Become / Refer a Speaker Form
  2. Provide additional headshots & short bio if prompted by Speakers Hub
  3. Keep an eye out for correspondence from Speakers XX regarding e-introductions to Event Organizers in order to further discuss fit, and other details.
  4. If an appropriate fit is found, finalize event details with Event Organizers
  5. Speak at event
  6. Stay tuned for post event feedback!
Event Organizer Process
  1. Complete the Speaker Request Form
  2. Look for correspondence from Speakers XX regarding a list of potential speakers
  3. Request top 3 speakers and keep an eye out for e-introductions to a Speaker. Be ready to further discuss fit, and other details (ie Ppt presentation or solely speaking, duration of speech, topic of interest etc)
  4. If an appropriate fit is found, finalize event details with Speaker
  5. Host event
  6. Provide post event feedback through survey format so Speakers Bureau Coordinator can relay to Speaker

What is the Student Speakers Hub?
The Student Speakers Hub is an extension of the ASB Speakers Hub, which links speakers from various groups (alumni, faculty, students, and external professionals) to events within the Alberta School of Business. Students will have the opportunity to represent their faculty and share their stories with peers and community members!

Why become a Student Speaker?
The ASB Speakers Hub will not only be a lot of fun, but you will also make a meaningful impact on the opinions of prospective students, have exclusive interactions with the Undergraduate Office, and potentially other professionals in the community.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Comfortable speaking in a public setting
  • Share experiences and stories from ASB with the next generation of business professionals
  • Represent the Alberta School of Business at various speaking engagements
  • Potential speaking opportunities could include:
  • ASB Student representative at professional functions with donors, instructors or community members
  • Student speaker at High School engagement events, talking with younger peers about your journey
  • Discussing your extracurricular involvement, learning opportunities, and achievements at donor or high school events
Application Process
  • March 1: Applications for the ASB Speakers Hub open. Apply using this form.
  • March 14: Applications close
  • Mid to late March: Interviews 
  • End of April: Successful applicants are contacted.
