Minimum Training Requirements

These training requirements apply to those entering residency on or after July 1, 2021.

The rotations provided during each stage of training are essential for our residents to gain adequate exposure to the broad range of contemporary cardiologic practice. In addition, weekly rounds, seminars and core curriculum lectures supplement and enhance each trainee's learning experience. The diversity of clinical expertise within the Division of Cardiology, as well as the breadth and depth of clinical and research material available at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, provides our trainees with extensive experience. When combined with the examination preparation series offered by our knowledgeable staff, our graduates are well situated to pass the Royal College Adult Cardiology exam and move on to a fulfilling career in Cardiology.
