ELR Competencies

The ELR framework has three tiers:

  1. Assurance of Learning Goals
  2. Competencies/Transferable Skills for Employment
  3. Achievement Statements

All tiers are connected, moving from the general to the applied, ultimately concentrating on the articulation of specific skill development.

Assurance of Learning Goals

There are 5 meta-categories that coincide with the Alberta School of Business Assurance of Learning Goals. As such, The Competencies are organized within the meta-category framework namely:

  1. Communication
  2. Business Concepts and Theories
  3. Entrepreneurial Thinking
  4. Ethical Awareness
  5. Teamwork
Competencies
There are 44 Competencies noted in the Competency Framework. Each competency notes a specific transferable skill that may be developed as a result of a student’s engagement in a co-curricular experience.
Achievement Statements
Each Competency (or Transferable Skill) is aligned with a student achievement statement.
