Making Edmonton Digital

Making Edmonton Digital is a digital marketing service created through a partnership with the School of Retailing, the City of Edmonton, and Digital Mainstreet.

The program is funded by grants provided locally by the City of Edmonton and federally by the Government of Canada’s Western Economic Diversification. The program is designed to help local businesses develop their digital foundations while providing the students at the School of Retailing with valuable hands-on experience.

Making Edmonton Digital gives students the opportunity to gain real-life experience in key digital marketing elements such as:

  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Ecommerce
  • Website creation
  • Google business profiles & Google Analytics
  • Branding
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Content Marketing

The Student Digital Consultants work one-on-one with the businesses to assess the needs of their business, create a personalized action plan, and then execute that action plan. Digital is no longer an option, and the Alberta School of Business students are here to help you build businesses thrive. The program is on track to help 600 businesses by September 2021!

Career Potential

Students are well-positioned for success with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of digital marketing, communications, and managing client expectations. Not only does Making Edmonton Digital help make a lasting impact in the local economy, it gives students hands-on experience and practical learning to succeed in their careers.
