Overview: |
An elective in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in Medicine offers the student a chance to familiarize themselves with the current and future state of medicine and how AI tools are affecting the way they practice medicine. The student will learn the basics of AI and medical AI through didactic lectures, seminars and case-based discussions and will have an opportunity to deploy their own medical AI tool through attending workshops and working on a project (optional component). Through the course, the student will learn how to speak the general language of AI and will be able to communicate with AI experts to collaborate and build newer AI tools in the healthcare space. The student will also develop a competency in critical appraisal and evaluation of AI literature and will be able to determine the impact of newer tools deployed in medicine. Special focus will also be given to ethics of using AI in healthcare. |
