How do I make arrangements for special accommodation?

If you have a medical condition that affects your mobility, vision, hearing, learning or physical or mental health, or experience a non-medical restriction that affects your ability to participate in your academics or campus life, please contact the Academic Success Centre. For any other special requirements, please contact us at housing@ualberta.ca before you submit an application. We strive to accommodate special needs and concerns to the best of our ability.

How do I pick my own roommate?

To pick your own roommate, you need to submit a roommate request.

  1. Apply for residence by logging in to your residence account
  2. In the residence application, choose the same preferred residence building and unit type as your roommate(s)
  3. Complete the Roommate Requests and Questionnaire (in your residence account, under home, find the online forms for the semester you applied to)
    • You must include your roommate(s) 7-digit ID number
    • Ensure the roommates you request also request you in their questionnaire

We recommend you apply at the same time as your preferred roommate(s) to help ensure you’re assigned together.

To make changes to your roommate request or your roommate questionnaire after you’ve submitted your application, email housing@ualberta.ca.

Am I guaranteed my roommate?

Students who apply for HUB, Nîpisíy, Pinecrest and Tamarack House by February 15 are guaranteed their requested roommates, providing that all roommates request each other and submit their applications by the deadline.
