Overview: |
Muskuloskeletal disease is a frequent reason for consultation of a physician, and diagnosis is often dependent upon having good skills in history and physical examination. This elective provides the student with an opportunity to see a large number of patients with a variety of muskuloskeletal disease, and gain expertise and experience by talking with and examining them in the ambulatory setting. As a medical student, you will spend time in outpatient clinics and be supervised closely by a resident and/or the rheumatologist. There is no call for medical students. |

Students will develop an approach to history taking, physician examination, lab assessment and management of the following conditions:

You will spend time in both clinics and on the consults service Clinics are located in 3A Kaye Edmonton Clinic Visiting students: NETCARE ACCESS REQUIRED FOR THIS ELECTIVE. Students MUST request access for Netcare and eClinician A MINIMUM OF 6 WEEKS before the elective start date. Students who do not place this request before the 6 week deadline will not be granted access. Once visiting students have applied through the AFMC Portal and their elective is confirmed, a confirmation email will automatically be generated with further instructions and the online training link for Netcare. |
