A Strategic Approach to Active Learning: A Hands-on Card Activity
Description
Are you looking to integrate active learning but don't know where to start? Are you interested in learning about active learning?
This workshop will provide you with tools and strategies for integrating active learning and other teaching modalities in your teaching. Using a card-based activity (cards will be provided through email) we will walk you through how to consider and plan your teaching sessions. Since this session will be offered online involving actual materials, a small arts and craft assignment will be required prior to the workshop.
Objectives
- Provide exposure to approaches in active learning
- Differentiate the strengths and weaknesses of each strategy, and how they can complement each other
- Use the Active Learning Cards as a scaffold to assemble your learning sessions
- Reflect on how active learning approaches can improve your teaching practices
