Health, Safety + Environment Management System

A Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) is a framework for the development, communication and management of healthy, safe and environmentally responsible activities. The university is committed to an HSEMS that supports preventative and responsive attitudes and behaviors at all levels of management, supervision and staffing.

The cornerstone of the university's HSEMS is the Health, Safety and Environment Policy . "Assignments of accountabilities" establish the HSEMS framework, while procedures and support documents (such as manuals, guidelines and informational documents) provide the details.

Implement the HSEMS in Your Unit

Everyone has a role to play in implementing HSE requirements. For support in doing so for your unit, please contact hse.info@ualberta.ca.
