Specialized Lab Equipment and Hardware

Supporting this research technology, which is often called “location dependent research support,” is a specialty and will likely require specific skills. Support is best handled within the faculties or colleges in order to work effectively with the technology operators, data analyzers and researchers.

Hardware Issues & Support

IST will troubleshoot and support computers used by individuals for teaching, learning, research and administrative purposes that have a common and current configuration. This encompasses hardware support including peripherals (e.g., printers, monitors) and Operating System support.

Any non-standard hardware support is limited to initial triage and basic troubleshooting. Beyond that, additional escalation and support paths can be recommended by IST.
